The Story of the Cinnamon Cards

I really love readings and I wanted to do them for people. But I could never remember all the symbols and card meanings once I started to read. I went blank. I simply forgot the orthodox references with in a tarot deck. I tried oracle cards but they felt limited. That’s when Cinnamon, my Joy Guide, inspired me to make my own deck.

Cinnamon Cards

I took the photo stock books I had salvaged from Ad Agencies and made my own cards. Each small picture holds an abundance of symbolism that inspires in an easy way. And when all the chosen cards were assembled together in a layout, I can see a client’s story. A beautiful Soul story!

What’s nice about my Cinnamon Cards is that they can inspire my sitters as well. The little pictures cause unexpected reactions and validations with my clients that make the reading so much richer with double inspiration.

My deck of 350 Cinnamon Cards is toted in a bright green bag. The truth happens no matter who pulls the cards out.

The Destiny Deck

Many years ago, my sister Bernice found a deck of fortune telling cards called THE DESTINY DECK in a bargain bin at a K-Mart. She got them for something fun to do at a family gathering. Bernice and I set up a table and began to do readings for everyone. It was so fun, but we were shocked by how accurate all the readings were using the Destiny Cards.

I tried to find a copy of this deck but failed. I ended up copying the original deck on some blank cards and made a version of the deck that fit with me.

The Destiny Deck is a little more orthodox than my Cinnamon Cards. The Destiny Deck can be more specific. I like to use the Destiny Cards with a Cinnamon Card on top for balanced insight.

Archetypes

I adore stories! That’s why I am an illustrator. In a story, characters line up to play familiar roles that help the story flow in an entertaining way from beginning to end. These roles storyline our basic human nature and responses. When you are drawn into a story, and really get into the mind of a character, you are merging with a reflection of humanity, or your own self. The mirror of who you are and can be within your own story. Story characters then become Archetypes or emotional mentors who help us expand in an awareness of who we are, and can be, in the morality of our own living story. Stories have the magical ability to heal hearts.

All story characters become mythological mentors for guidance and for healing.

Archetype Card

There are twelve main archetypal roles, but many more can line up for discovered insight.
The basic ones are: Innocent, Orphan, Warrior, Caregiver, Seeker, Destroyer, Lover, Creator, Ruler, Magician, Sage and Fool.

In my art readings, I love linking to my client’s current archetypal energy. I am seeking a healing message for the current character on their life stage. This link can steer them into a new way to be on stage. It can remind them of who they are NOT – and who they truly want to be right now. It can also help them see a challenge, in a new compassionate way using a new archetype.

Archtype Cards

I have three decks for linking to archetypal energy. One was created by Caroline Myss with 80 cards. Carol Pearson’s book on archetypes is a good study for more info.
