Parisian Fairies
Two fairies enjoy a cup of coffee overlooking the magical city of Paris with a gargoyle from Notre Dame smiling over them. Gargoyles usually have monstrous characteristics to inspire fear. This makes them guardians. My gargoyle is welcoming and joyful. The fairies sit on mending tools. The yellow thread is for faith and a brass thimble for mending protection. I did this art to “visualize” and trip to Paris for my husband and myself. Upon completion, it also helped me take my grief to a higher perspective when the senseless violence happened in Paris a week later in November 2015.
